“Creepy Images of Doraemon Under the Sea: The Mystery That Stirs Up Japanese Social Networks”

Recently, a Japanese diver with the account name X @monakoMNK shared a photo that caused a stir in the online community. In the photo, the robot cat Doraemon lies motionless at the bottom of the sea in Enoura, west of Sagami Bay (Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan). This image immediately evokes memories of the animated film Doraemon: Nobita and the Tin Labyrinth released in 1993.

The story begins when @monakoMNK went scuba diving to explore the ocean world. Instead of encountering schools of fish or beautiful seashells, he found something even more surprising: Doraemon, the famous robot cat that has brought joy to generations of Japanese children. However, unlike his usual cheerful and optimistic image, Doraemon in the photo looked extremely sad.

“Can’t forget this image,” @monakoMNK shared on X. “It’s like Doraemon has been abandoned by Japanese society.”

The images posted by netizens made many people panic and speculate.

In Doraemon: Nobita and the Tin Maze , Doraemon is captured by an alien army and tortured with powerful electric shocks. These shocks damage Doraemon’s internal circuitry, and his body is thrown into the ocean. However, fans can rest assured that Doraemon has since been repaired and has gone on to star in 29 more films (and counting).

Interestingly, @monakoMNK is not the only one who has found Doraemon at the bottom of the ocean. Many others have shared similar experiences, including videos from 2015. These photos and videos have sparked many theories about Doraemon’s appearance at the bottom of the ocean.

No one knows who erected this famous statue.

Some people think this is a joke, while others believe that this is a form of memorial to the co-author of the legendary series – Fujiko A. Fujio, who passed away in early April 2022. Some people also humorously speculated: “That would be my nightmare”, “I think if you swim past this place at night, it will start chasing you”, “It’s scary to see the cat’s eyes have completely blurred”, “Doraemon comes from the future, so I think he was buried under the sea to prevent a time paradox from happening”, “I think all these Doraemons originated from the same entity, but through the use of the time machine, the time axes have begun to overlap, allowing them to exist simultaneously”.

Whatever the truth, the image of Doraemon under the sea continues to capture people’s imaginations and remind them of the far-reaching influence of this robotic cat from the future.
